Welfen-Gymnasium Schongau wins the HOERBIGER Football Cup 2024

Outdoor sports day instead of classroom lessons: Five teams from different schools in the Schongau region in Germany competed against each other at the HOERBIGER Football Cup 2024. This year, the coveted challenge cup went to the proud winners from Welfen-Gymnasium Schongau.

Shortly before the start of the summer vacations, HOERBIGER organized a soccer tournament for schools in the region. A total of 53 students played for attractive prizes on the sports field in Altenstadt. The winning team from Welfen-Gymnasium Schongau received the coveted challenge cup and sports bags with a beach ball and sunglasses. Second place went to the team from Realschule Schongau with a three-point difference and third place to the second team from Welfen-Gymnasium. All players were also awarded a medal.

The participating students were supported by their accompanying teachers and HOERBIGER trainees. They helped with the event organization, cheered on the players and acted as referees and announcers.

HOERBIGER has been organizing the Football Cup since 2013 with the goal of providing students from the Schongau area with a varied sports day at the end of the school year. "Sports teach values such as fairness and closeness, which are also important at HOERBIGER," says Training Manager Peter Frühschütz. "Both work and play are about having fun and achieving a goal together."

Peter Frühschütz's conclusion: "The football tournament was a special event for everyone involved. The participants shone with their sporting ambition, strong commitment and fair play."
